About the Expo
The Rio Oil & Gas expo and conference is one of the largest oil and gas events in the world. The exhibition takes place every two years at the Rio Centro Convention centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Convention Center is situated in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, approximately 50 minutes by freeway from the center of Rio de Janeiro and a 40-minute drive from Rio de Janeiro International Airport.
Since its first edition in 1982, both the exhibition and the conference have contributed to build up Rio de Janeiro’s reputation of being the “Brazilian oil capital”. Rio de Janeiro State concentrates 80% of the oil produced in the country, along with 50% of the total gas production.
The 2012 expo will certainly shape the future direction of the oil and gas sector in Latin America. The previous Rio Oil & Gas expo, in 2010, attracted over 53,000 attendees. It has already been predicted that the number of attendees this year will surpass the 53,000 mark.
The event provides the perfect opportunity for companies to demonstrate their latest products and services to the South America market. 1300 exhibitors will occupy 37,000 sq. meters at the Riocentro Convention Center. One of the exhibitors at the event will be Brown McFarlane.

Plates shipped from Brown McFarlane’s warehouses can arrive into Santos Port within 30 days.
