Managing Director: Domestic Business & Group Operations
John is responsible for all aspects of Brown McFarlane’s business in the U.K. and Ireland as well as operational matters across the Group worldwide.
Group Purchasing Manager
Mick has been with Brown McFarlane for over 20 years. During this time Mick has operated in a number of departments throughout the business including Quality Assurance, Production and Sales. In 2007 Mick became Purchasing Manager and is now responsible for all steel procurement within the Brown Mcfarlane group; he has extensive knowledge of all steel specifications and their associated suppliers.
Sales Manager: England & Wales
Ian’s involvement with Brown Mcfarlane spans over 25 years and during this time has been totally dedicated to the companies sales operations. Ian has held various posts including Structural Product Manager, Accounts Manager & Sales Office Manger. All these roles enabled Ian to gain a wealth of experience and he is now responsible for all Brown Mcfarlane’s sales activities in England and Wales.
Account Manager: Specialising in Boiler / Pressure Vessel / Chrome Molybdenum Steels
Duncan’s involvement with the Steel Industry spans over 35 years. He originally worked for British Steel (Corus) prior to joining Brown Mcfarlane, where he has been a vital component of the sales team for well over 25 years. Duncan has extensive specialist knowledge regarding all technical aspects of boiler / pressure vessel plate supply (including HIC requirements). Duncan has supplied steel to many of the world’s largest corporations including the likes of Petrobras, Conoco Phillips and Chevron.
Account Manager: Plate & Profile Sales
Mike currently heads up our quotation & supply service for storage tank manufactures (England / Wales) and has a wealth of experience, from his original engineering background through to over 20 years experience in steel distribution. Mike is equally at home in supplying simple “one off” profiles or completely quoting and project managing a complex fabrication including elements such as cad design, profile cutting, weld preparation, shot blasting and machining.
Account Manager: Wear Resistance / High Yield (Plate & Profile Sales)
John has been heavily involved with the supply and distribution of wear resistant steels and ultra high yield steels for many years. John is highly conversant with all aspects of these markets and regularly supplies his extensive client base with materials for applications such as liner kits, cutting edges, crusher parts, screens & excavator buckets and recycling equipment.
Sales Executive: Plate & Profile Sales
Rob has been with the business for over 5 years and brings with him a great deal of experience from his time in our production department. During this time Rob gained valuable production experience and enviable CAD skills which enable him to quickly and economically nest complex profiled parts and in turn rapidly respond with competitive prices.

Colin has been with Brown McFarlane for over 20 years and was originally our works manager at Glasgow. Colin has considerable steel design experience.

Allan is the face of Brown McFarlane in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the northerly counties of England. His role as Sales Executive means that for many clients,Allan is the first point of contact. Emanating from a structural steel background, Allan has built upon the knowledge gained in that sector to be fully conversant with the often complex products and services offered by Brown McFarlane.

Managing Director: International Business
Andrew has over 25 years experience in the steel industry and has worked for both steel mills and steel plate service centres. Andrew spent over 7 years working in the Middle East and is responsible for the Brown McFarlane Group’s International activities.
International Business Development Manager
Richard is responsible for the development of Brown McFarlane's business in the international arena. Petrochemical, Offshore, Renewable Energy, Defence, Quarrying and Mining are just some of the industrial sectors where Richard's all round experience helps the business to find new opportunities creating an important link between supplier and buyer.
Export Sales Manager
John has spent many years servicing the offshore oil and gas sector and his knowledge of high yield steel plate, sections, tubulars and profiles, combined with his extensive experience of the Far East and Middle East markets continues to prove invaluable to our business and customers.
Export Sales Executive
David has over 30 years experience in the steel industry and has worked for Brown McFarlane's export division for the last six years. David looks after much of our business into Far East countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia as well as Australia and New Zealand.
Export Sales Executive
Karl spent a short time working in our Singapore office to gain extra knowledge and experience of export markets and now looks after sales namely into India and the Middle East. Karl also provides important additional back up support from the UK for our Dubai office.

Nina is a former business graduate and is responsible for many of our important European markets as well as emerging economies such as South America. Nina has quickly adapted her skills into successfully selling a variety of steel products into different export markets.
Export Sales Executive
Liz is a former Languages and Business Graduate who is responsible for business in Europe, the Far East and also works closely with our offices in South Africa. Liz is fluent in French and has previously worked in Europe for major international companies.
