Brown McFarlane is the UK's premier quality steel plate distributor and processor. We are one of the longest established steel distributing and processing businesses in the UK and have developed into one of Europe's premier steel plate companies. We have a wide range of carbon steel boiler plate and indeed carbon steel plates to match your requirements.
We are still family owned and independent and we continue to grow both organically and by acquisition. Since the 70's we have concentrated on our steel stockholding business. At the start of the 1980's we extended the services we provide by incorporating profile cutting and boilerplate carbon steel. Nowadays we are now geared to profiling of carbon steel, steel profiles, gas profiles and plasma and laser profiles.
We stock a comprehensive range of Abrasive Resistant Carbon Steel Plates, Chrome Molybdenum Steel plates and are a market leader with our Ultra High Yield steel plates.
We, at Brown McFarlane set up a joint venture in 2002 in order to hold stocks of boiler and pressure vessel steel plate to service the expanding South African market place. In 2003, we sold over 50,000 tonnes of steel plate and we are now one of Europe’s major processor and stockholder of steel plate.

We carry the widest range of sizes and specification in carbon steel plate available within the UK. If you have requirements that are not listed below, please contact us as we can potentially re-certify, from original mill sources, many of the standard specification.
Our ranges include high temperature steel plate, Asme Vessel Steel Plate and Fully Killed Steel Plates to British Standards or international requirements if we are exporting.

With one of the largest steel plate processing capacities in Europe, Brown McFarlane can supply anything from a single carbon steel or plasma profile to a complete bridge. Supporting our profiling and weld preparation services we can call on a wide range of quality assured sub-contractors to produce rolled shells, dished ends, fully machined parts, ground parts and shot blasted and primed parts and plate. Therefore we can provide Quenched and Tempered Carbon Steel Plates, or if you prefer the terminology Q&T Steel Plates.
