Plate Weighting for plates to Class C tolerances (EN10029)

The effect of purchasing steel plates rolled to an EN10029 Class C thickness tolerance (zero negative tolernace) is to obtain a plate that will be thicker in reality than its nominal ordered thickness. In some cases, Tata in the UK being the prime example, steel manufacturers amend theoretical plate weights from the usual 7.85 kg/dm3 in order to compensate for this.

The data sheet found by clicking below lists the weight factor relevant to plates sizes and thicknesses produced to Class C.
