Martin joined the Brown McFarlane in September 2014 as Executive Chairman and has over 36 years' experience within the steel industry. A seasoned industry professional he has had a series of senior management and Directorial positions within Tata UK, in Commercial, Operational, and General management roles. He brings with him a wealth of experience in strategic management and has operated extensively in domestic and international markets.

Ian has been looking after our customers' requirements for more than 15 years. He heads up the team responsible for the company's sales and marketing activity across the whole of the U.K. and Ireland. Although based at our Glasgow office he is a regular visitor to the Stoke office.

Daniel has over 20 year’s background experience in the steel industry in various roles both selling and buying, giving him a unique and deep product knowledge. Competitive and thorough, Daniel leads the Stoke sales team.
Group Purchasing Director
Mick has been with Brown McFarlane for 25 years. During this time he has operated in a number of departments including Quality Assurance, Production and Sales. He is responsible for all steel procurement within the Brown McFarlane Group dealing with suppliers around the world and monitoring and managing stocks in all of the Group's warehouse locations. He has extensive knowledge of all steel specifications and their associated suppliers.
Account Manager: Specialising in Boiler / Pressure Vessel / Chrome Molybdenum Steels
Duncan’s involvement with the Steel Industry spans over 35 years. He originally worked for British Steel (Corus) prior to joining Brown Mcfarlane, where he has been a vital component of the sales team for well over 25 years. Duncan has extensive specialist knowledge regarding all technical aspects of boiler / pressure vessel plate supply (including HIC requirements). Duncan has supplied steel to many of the world’s largest corporations including the likes of Petrobras, Conoco Phillips and Chevron.
Account Manager: Plate & Profile Sales
Mike currently heads up our quotation & supply service for storage tank manufactures (England / Wales) and has a wealth of experience, from his original engineering background through to over 20 years experience in steel distribution. Mike is equally at home in supplying simple “one off” profiles or completely quoting and project managing a complex fabrication including elements such as cad design, profile cutting, weld preparation, shot blasting and machining.
Rob has been with the business for over 11 years in both sales and production departments. During this time Rob gained valuable insight and enviable CAD skills which enable him to quickly and economically nest complex profiled parts and in turn rapidly respond with competitive prices.
Area Sales Representitive
Dean joined Brown McFarlane over 5 years ago and has gained experience in both our CAD departement, where his practical skills were a great contribution and then into our Quality Assurance team. Dean has now made the jump into our sales team and is a welcome addition, with a fantastic first-hand knowledge of steel products and their supply.
Alan has 14 years of experience of the steel supply industry from a small independent company to larger organisations he has gained excellent product knowledge, as well as an eye for researching and developing new business opportunities.
Donald has been working with us since leaving college, and has become an integral part of our team. He has gained solid experience in the quoting of technical enquiries particularly and displays the very best of Brown McFarlane's customer focused ethos.
Account Manager South of England and East Anglia
Mick has had a long Career working for GKN British Steel and their successors Corus and Tata. He has occupied high level commercial roles both in the UK and overseas and as he describes ‘steel is in the blood’.
Barry has been with Brown McFarlane for 5 years, having spent all of his working life in the steel industry. Barry has extensive knowledge of steel plate and processing, in both carbon and stainless products, as well as the multitude of services we offer. The majority of Barry's time is spent on the road visiting our customers and keeping in touch with developments at Brown McFarlane.
