Brown McFarlane, a leading steel stockholder, is delighted to announce that the company’s first business apprentice and engineering technology apprentice, Sophie Scott and Daniel Jennings, have completed their courses.
Sophie joined the Brown McFarlane team in June of 2015 and has since then worked hard to complete her apprenticeship in business administration, as well as taking on extra qualifications in IT, photography, marketing, and Spanish.
Sophie’s qualification gives her a comprehensive knowledge and skill set that can be used within business and commercial sectors and now as a full-time member of the group, Sophie will be putting these skills to work in our marketing department.
Continuing onto the next level of her studies, Sophie is in the process of completing a level 4 course in marketing at Oxford College of Marketing - we wish her all the best of luck in this endeavour and will continue to support her studies.
Daniel first joined the team in September of 2015, starting his apprenticeship outside in our works gaining hands on experience in profiling using our state of the art machines. Expanding his range of experience, in March of 2016 Daniel moved into the offices to work with our CAD department. He is now a full-time CAD trainee, assisting the department in creating bespoke drawings to be cut in our steel works.
Currently, Daniel is continuing his studies at Newcastle Under Lyme College by completing a further course in CAD design to support his work within the business. His experience and knowledge gained through his course and time in the company are proving invaluable to the business and we will continue to support Daniel in his academic career.
Brown McFarlane is committed to enhancing the skills of its employees as this benefits both the individual and the company. The company supported Sophie and Daniel as they studied for the twelve months necessary to obtain their qualifications. Further training and support is offered to employees in all areas of the company.
