Here at Brown McFarlane’s Stoke-on-Trent production facility, we recently completed the processing of eight large area pressure vessel plates in grade BS1501-223-490B.

With sheet sizes of 14445 x 3200 x 40mm and 14795 x 3355 x 40mm – these plates were the largest we have processed to date on our Messer Infinity Plasma Bevel machine.

These plates formed part of a large project for one of our main customers. Brown McFarlane sourced the plates from a first-tier European mill and then received them into our stock in Stoke on Trent. The plates were then processed and delivered just in time to our customers nominated delivery point. As part of the job, we provided a full documentation and certification package – giving full traceability for our customer.

Pressure vessel steel plates can be used in a wide range of sectors and applications. Used extensively in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors; with end uses such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers and pipelines.
